ROUND 5 SECUNDA RALLY 10TH OCTOBER
The ARRO Elmectron Industries Rally, round 5 of the ARRO Northern Regions Rally Championship will be taking place in the Mpumalanga town of Secunda on the 10th of October 2015.
The event is set to start at 08:00 on Saturday morning with documentation and scrutinizing and the first car on the road will start stage 1 at 10:00. 70kms of the best rally stages in South Africa will be covered by the 17 crews entered which will be run over 6 stages with 5 at the Van Der Merwe farm and the last 1 at Lake Umuzi.
Jose Ferreira and Pierre Jordaan are the favourites to take Group A honours, but they will have no less than four other Subaru crews looking to spoil it for them including Vladimir Sibirko who makes a return after rebuilding his car completely, Rinus Plomp, Marco Ferreira and Kosie van der Merwe all in Subaru’s will have Jose in their sights.
Cherise Groenewald makes a welcome return into the navigation seat after the birth of their twins, in the Autobar Toyota Tazz next to husband Cobus Groenewald. The two Volkswagen Golfs of Gert Wolmerans and Willem Janse van Rensburg will take the fight to Groenewald in group B. Karl du Plessis in his Chev Ranger,Rudi van Zyl in a Ford Escort as well as Keith Delport in a Nissan Skyline are ready to take on the front runners.
Natie Booysen in a Ford Escort has his eye set on the overall honours in group D but this will not come easy with the pairing of Leslie and Ashley Mackenzie in another Ford Escourt ready to take up the fight till the end.
The Secunda Rally promises excellent spectator value for all who are planning to attend the event. All stages will be easily accessible and promise high speed action throughout the event..
